It's all in the name...

Sorry I haven't posted in such a long time- a week is a long time nowadays... in the blogging world.

This past weekend we headed to New York to visit Gary's parents. It was a 5 1/2 hour trip and it felt like it was a LONG trip. Luckily, we didn't have traffic entering NY, but it was foggy and I got really tired when we finally arrived in NY. I drive coz Gary drives TOO fast and I get too nervous... so I'd rather drive.

We didn't do much in NY. We haven't been there in 3 months so it was good to catch up with Gary's family and they hadn't seen my pregnant belly so they were ALL excited about it.

It was funny how everybody wants a girl... and they're telling me Ponyo is gonna be a girl because my belly has this rounded shape. I know nothing about how they can tell whether it's a boy or a girl, but 99% of the people who saw us told us it's a girl.

With this comes the BIG problem of naming Ponyo.

For about 3 months Ponyo was named Camila and Kellan. That was until one day I googled Kellan and I found out the meaning in Princess Warrior.

Hmmmmmmm... I don't think Ponyo (if he's a boy) would have liked that his name means Princess Warrior.

Then I decided to change Camila for a most common name, and we came up with the name Emily.

Did you know Emily is the 3rd most common name in the USA? It was #1 in 2007 and it was #3 in the 2008 list.

There it went Emily, as well... :(

We bought a book called 100,000+ baby names... so we'll get busy reading it and trying to find a good name for Ponyo. If not... it will be Ponyo :)
