Excitement
Today was the first time I saw an OB. I'm 14 weeks pregnant, but so far I'd seen nurses, midwives, family practice doctors... but today I saw the lady I got stuck with being my OB.
She was very nice, cool woman who talked about my accent, Argentina, and blah blah blah.
Everything was fine with the blood results from last week, I learnt my blood type which I didn't know, she then proceeded to do a PAP smear (they test for STDs and so on...), asked me about why I declined the H1N1 vaccine and then told me she was gonna try to find the baby's heart beat.
She got that little machine, placed it in my belly and suddenly she's all: HEAR? CAN YOU HEAR YOUR BABY? OMG! THAT'S YOUR BABY'S HEARTBEAT! OMG! CAN YOU HEAR YOUR BABY????
I'm not a very expressive person -I mean, I get mad and upset, but never over-happy that I'll be jumping up and down with good news... or with baby's heartbeats. My excitement goes unseen, unheard, and unnoticed. When I learned my friend was pregnant I was all smiles and so happy for her, but I didn't say: OMG! She's pregnant! WOW!
I guess I show excitement in a different way.
Anyway, the poor lady doctor looked at me like 'this is your baby's heartbeat... aren't you excited???' and I felt terribly sorry for her excitement so I said: Oh wow... the heart beats so fast! LOL
I feel Ponyo move... it's more like a 'sliding' movement... but he's moving in there. Little Ponyo of the sea :)
I don't think we'll get to know the sex soon though. Our insurance doesn't cover sonograms done between the 20-25 week and this place charges me A LOT to have a sonogram to find out the sex. So it'll be Ponyo for much longer then... :)
