Oh the places you won't go...

I've planned going to FL for a very long time.

Last time I saw Di was a year ago and then as you all know, life gets busy and blah blah. She goes to school, 2 jobs, married life, the kids, the pets, the leisure passtime, her karaoke singing on Friday nights and all that comes with being such a famous personality in the Orlando area. :)

Just kidding...

We got busy all of a sudden and with me only being able to fly on Sat morning it became a pain in the ass to plan trips.

Gary gave me all his duty dates for April and one of them landed on this weekend (though later on I found out he had made a mistake and he wasn't working this wknd), so I planned on going to visit Di and see some other friends I have in Orlando.

My boss went to Boston on Friday and she was supposed to board a flight that would arrive at 5pm in LGA. She came home around 11.30pm. More than 5 hours delayed.
So knowing this (and reading in the news how most flights for the weekend had been delayed) I decided to check online to see my flight status.

At 9pm my flight from JFK to MCO at 8.20am had been delayed to 12.40pm arriving in MCO at 4.50pm.
The problem wasn't really staying less than 24 hours in Orlando... the main problem was my return flight. I booked the last flight out of MCO to JFK and if that flight was delayed or cancelled, I would come on Monday - BAD. REALLY. BAD!!!

I called Delta to find out why my flight was delayed. Nice people from India answered my call 45 minutes later and explained the plane arriving to JFK was late. They were offering me a refund of $164. The ticket was more than that... so I decided to call Cheaptickets -that's where I booked the flight.

55 minutes HOLDING to get a representative.
This lady answered my call, I explained my situation:
CS. I'm sorry Ma'am (they're all indians as well) but we can't refund your money because this is a nonrefundable ticket.
Me. I don't care. I want my money back because it's not MY fault the plane is delayed.

2 hours later I got all my $ back :)
2 hours later I was walking on midtown Manhattan going to Port Authority to get the bus to go to Boston in order to go to NH to be with Gary.

So the weekend came out pretty funny... I wanted to see my best friend and I ended up with my hubby, drinking coffee and eating panqueques with dulce de leche!

Oh well...
Noe & Gary
