The past is the past...
Yesterday I get on Facebook and all the people from Argentina had status like: 'Thank God's it's a holiday'; 'I'm going to the beach!!!'; 'I'm enjoying the holiday'.
I was like: WTF? What's going on in Argentina that every 2/3 weeks this people have holidays???
It seems that in March 24, 2006, the Argentinean gov declared that day a day of Remembrance or something like that. This refers to an era where the Argentinean militia was in charge of the country, and a whole lot of bad (really bad) things happened.
I read a blog post last night where someone was urging people to REMEMBER and DON'T FORGET what happened. I wondered WHY do we have to get stuck in the past? When was it OK to remember the bad things that happened?
Have you ever seen footage of 9/11 after 9/11?
Do they show that on TV?
Do they show all the stuff that black people suffered years ago on Feb just to make us remember them more?
Why do people get stuck in the past?

For those in ARgentina reading this, don't feel offended by what I wrote.
I'm Argentinean.
I know the story.
I understand.
I relate.
It's just that I don't understand WHY it has to be DAY to bring back all that stuff and make a bigger deal.
People who suffered remember that every day.
Those who didn't... still respect, relate and remember.
