Slumdog Millionaire
Last weekend my boss and her husband went to the movies. They barely go out... but it seems they wanted an 'adult' night out and they decided to go to dinner and a movie. How cute! :)
Anyway, on Monday morning she tells me about this movie called 'Slumdog Millionaire'. As my budget is kinda tight right now (I can't afford to pay $10.50 for a movie) I decided to check it online and I watched 1/2 hour of the movie online. The quality was horrible. The subtitled parts were a complete disaster and in the end, it wasn't really worth it to watch it online. She had told me there were many GRAPHIC situations I had to pay attention to and I should go to the movies.
When I saw Gary I told him we should go see this movie - but I had Borat on my iPod so we watched Borat instead. But I still wanted to go see the movie... even though there was only one showing left. It was around 10.50pm and that was way too late (we'd be back at 1am!!!!).
However, Gary said: Yeah, let's go.
Let me tell you, it's one of the best movies I've seen in a VERY LONG TIME. It's in the same kind of format as City of God and I will be extremely happy if they get some award nomination. It was very well written and it had awesome photography. I was extremely happy I got to see the movie in the theatre and even though Gary was a little resistant at the beginning, he enjoyed it too.
Have a wonderful week everybody!
